Jacob & MacKenna Say “I do!”
Jacob and MacKenna’s wedding day was the perfect mix of desert romance, wedding traditions, and all-out party. I had the honor of capturing every heartfelt moment of their wedding in Albuquerque, New Mexico and it was such a highlight of 2024. Their weekend-long celebration blended intimate family moments with the vibrant spirit of the Southwest, making it a standout summer wedding in Albuquerque.
First Looks
Before the ceremony, MacKenna shared a tender first look with her dad and brother. This sweet moment was filled with happy tears, laughter, and hugs amid the warm summer breeze. After, Jacob and MacKenna chose a private “first touch” outside the church. They prayed and held hands around the corner, savoring a sacred moment without peeking at each other.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place at the beautiful Church of the Incarnation Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, NM, with its soaring arches and stunning pillars setting the perfect scene. As MacKenna processed down the aisle in her lace-detailed gown, every eye was filled with joy. Vows were exchanged beneath the golden evening light, sealing their commitment in a tradition-rich service.
Mr. & Mrs. Perez
During the nuptial Mass, the couple shared a poignant blessing with family members and a beautiful unity ceremony was performed, assisted by the mothers of the bride and groom. As they exited the church as husband and wife, Jacob dipped MacKenna mid-aisle for the perfect “just married” kiss! Live musicians filled the sanctuary with classical hymns upon the newlyweds’ exit, adding an elegant touch to this Catholic wedding in Rio Rancho.
Wedding Party (Emphasis on Party)
Surrounded by siblings and lifelong friends, Jacob and MacKenna’s wedding party portraits were bursting with personality. Between playful cheers, group hugs, and impromptu bouquet tosses, you could feel the camaraderie and support these loved ones provided all day long. These spirited images perfectly capture the energy of a true Albuquerque wedding party.
Bride & Groom at Golden Hour
As the sun dipped low, we stole away for golden hour portraits in front of the church. The warm, amber light painted the couple in a romantic glow—the perfect backdrop for dreamy couples portraits in Albuquerque. Every frame highlighted their love against the vast New Mexico sky surrounded by the gorgeous landscape of the church gardens.
Let’s Party
The reception began at D’Venue in Albuquerque with an epic grand entrance by members of the wedding party and the newlyweds. Guests enjoyed New Mexican cuisine for dinner before toasting to the happy couple and grabbing dessert. Jacob and MacKenna shared their first dance together as husband and wife, then the dance floor opened with each and every guest on their feet dancing La Marcha.
Cheers to the Happy Couple!
After La Marcha, the party really got started! From the epic dance floor to the sweet cake-cutting moments, the evening was a nonstop celebration. Laughter echoed, drinks flowed from the bar, and every guest danced the night away.
